Go Ohio Valley is a free app produced by Adams Publishing Group of Ohio and presents an avenue to explore numerous categories and activities in the region.
This week’s feature listing the Vinton County Air Show held just north of McArthur on Route 93 this Sunday.
Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane … yeah, it is a plane, lots of them.
The Vinton County Air show is back for its 44th show this Sunday and promises to amaze and astound with its signature aerobatics. And, as always, the event is free.
More than 10 acts are scheduled to roam the skies, headlined by the Screaming Chickens parachutist team who will open the show at 1 p.m. and also close the event in the evening.
Prior to people falling out of the sky with a big piece of cloth to slow their descent, attendees can sample the show's famous chicken BBQ dinners beginning at 11 a.m.
The Vinton County High School Marching Band will get things underway with a performance at 12:30 p.m. and the aerobatics officially kick off at 1 p.m.
In addition to the Screaming Chickens, Emerson Stewart will conduct his flight show entirely without his engine powered on.
The Red Dragon Chinese Yak Flying Team follows, as well as Bill Koleno in his Titon Aircraft T-51 D Mustang.
Curt Arnspiger will pilot his Spanish jet aircraft, followed Captain Kirk's power-parachute performance and a radio-controlled jet aircraft show.
Roger Barns will demonstrate his flying lawn mower and Santa Claus will make an appearance during the show's candy drop.
The show is on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., located at the Vinton County Airport on Airport Road in New Plymouth, just north of McArthur, six miles north of Route 50 and off Route 93.
