Ohio members of Congress are calling on the federal government to step up assistance to state health officials as it revises safety protocols to stem the spread of Ebola.

In a letter, all 16 members of Ohio's House delegation including GOP Speaker John Boehner asked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to provide all necessary help to determine whether Ohioans may have been exposed to Ebola. They want stronger measures to prevent the virus from spreading.

Ebola became a concern in Ohio because a nurse visited Akron and Cleveland shortly before she was diagnosed with the virus in Texas.

Separately, Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown says the CDC should send additional preparedness experts and work more actively on next steps and protocols in case any Ohioans exhibit Ebola symptoms.
