Week 8 Power Rankings: MVL [w/VIDEO]
< < Back to week-8-power-rankings-mvl-video1) Tri-Valley (8-0, 6-0) | Last Week 1
The undefeated Tri-Valley Scotties have been dominant all season with their three-headed monster of Bubby Scott, Hunter Mohler, and Logan Bash. Having Player of the Year candidate Brock Fargus at quarterback is also a great asset. Their 30-plus game conference winning streak continued with a shutout victory over Sheridan Friday.
2) Maysville (8-0, 7-0) | Last Week 2
The Panthers have surprised many this season by going undefeated this long in the season. The Panthers will have their work cut out for them, though, when they battle for the MVL title against the Scotties this week.
3) Sheridan (6-2, 4-2) | Last Week 3
The Generals loss against Tri-Valley in Week 8 appears to have cost them in more ways than one, as the Generals now seem to be a longshot to make the playoffs. They have dramatically improved this season, however, and will finish out this season strong as one of the top three teams in the MVL
4) New Lexington (4-4, 4-2) | Last Week 5
After a slow start to the season, New Lexington has found a groove and have rolled off two-straight wins over Philo and West Muskingum. The Panthers have a chance to make a statement in the MVL in their matchup with John Glenn this Friday.
5) John Glenn (4-4, 3-3) | Last Week 4
The 2014 season has been a disappointing one for John Glenn, just one year after making the playoffs. The Little Muskies have lost to the MVL's top three teams, and in those losses they were outscored 121-15. It doesn't get any easier, as the Little Muskies go to battle with a tough New Lexington team this Friday.
6) Crooksville (4-4, 2-4) | Last Week 7
Crooksville is coming off of two-straight wins in which they scored 40 or more points, including an easy 47-0 win over Morgan in Week 8. They have a chance to move up with an upset win over the Sheridan Generals this week.
7) Philo (3-5, 2-4) | Last Week 6
The youthful Electrics have stayed in the spot that some predicted them to finish during the preseason: No. 7. They have a chance to improve their record this week with a win over the winless Morgan Raiders.
8) West Muskingum (1-7, 0-7) | Last Week 8
After three full seasons, the losing streak is over. The Tornadoes picked up their first win since October 14, 2011 this past week with a 26-7 win over Buckeye Trail.
9) Morgan (0-7, 0-7) | Last Week 9
Morgan is still looking to get their first win of the season and do have a chance against the Philo this week. The Raiders offense has only scored 24 points this season, and has been shutout in five of their eight games.
