Recap: Tri-Valley Claims Share Of 4th-Straigh MVL Title With 35-7 Win Over Maysville [VIDEO]
< < Back toIn Friday’s showdown with the MVL championship on the line, the Tri-Valley Scotties dominated the Maysville Panthers in convincing fashion with a 35-7 victory.
The Scotties (9-0, 7-0 MVL) fed off the energy of a packed house at Jack Anderson Stadium and handed Maysville its first loss of the season, while also claiming at least a share of the MVL title for the fourth-straight season.
After going three and out on their first possession, Tri-Valley reached the end zone on each of their next five drives.
The Tri-Valley defense stifled a Maysville (8-1, 7-1 MVL) attack that came into the game averaging over 36 points per game. Panthers quarterback Jacob Miller was picked off three times and he finished the game 3-10 passing for just 30 yards and a touchdown.
Gridiron Glory Player of the Year semifinalist and Maysville running back Chase Roberts was held in check by the Scottie front seven. He finished the game with just 13 total yards on five carries and one short reception.
Tri-Valley quarterback Brock Fargus, another #GGPOY semifinalist, completed 11 of 14 passes for 165 yards and had two touchdowns through the air. Fargus also showcased his running skills with 103 rushing yards and a one-yard touchdown run. It was a fitting performance by the senior quarterback on Senior Night.
The loss concludes Maysville’s MVL slate. They finish their regular season at home vs. Claymont (4-5) next week.
Tri-Valley can win the conference outright if they win next week at Philo (4-5, 3-4 MVL).
