Dallas Nurse Who Caught Ebola: ‘I’m Not Careless’< < Back to
The Dallas nurse who flew on a commercial jet before being diagnosed with Ebola says she wasn't careless or reckless.
In an interview Thursday morning on NBC's "Today" show, Amber Vinson also said she didn't get enough training to feel comfortable treating Ebola patients. She said the first time she donned special protective gear was when she was heading in to take care of an infected patient at her Dallas hospital.
Vinson said she checked with health officials before flying Oct. 10 from Dallas to Cleveland and returning three days later.
The Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has acknowledged that Vinson wasn't stopped from flying, something the agency later said was a mistake on its part.
Vinson has recovered from Ebola. She said Thursday she feels good, but still gets tired sometimes.
