Ohio Leaders To Discuss Postelection Plans, Policy
< < Back toOhio's legislative leaders and agency directors are slated to discuss health care, energy and other policy issues that will face the state in the months ahead.
The Thursday afternoon conference follows Tuesday's elections in which voters swept statewide incumbent Republicans back into office, including Gov. John Kasich.
Kasich again will have GOP majorities in the Legislature to work with next year. Democrats lost at least five of their Ohio House seats as Republicans topped a record for elected seats held in the chamber under its current configuration.
Kasich has said he isn't lacking in ideas for a second term. He's expected to push his fellow Republicans to increase taxes on the oil and gas industry, an idea that has previously gained little traction.
