Ohio State marching band sex culture investigation to be released
< < Back to ohio-state-marching-band-sex-culture-investigation-be-releasedA former state attorney general hired by Ohio State University to review the culture inside its celebrated marching band is ready to release her report.
Betty Montgomery has scheduled a news conference for Tuesday afternoon.
The task force was formed after the band’s director was fired. President Michael Drake asked Montgomery’s task force in August to follow up on a two-month internal investigation that concluded then-director Jonathan Waters knew about but failed to stop a “sexualized culture” of rituals inside the band. The university concluded that created a hostile environment for students.
Waters has challenged the report’s findings and sued, seeking reversal of his July 24 termination. Drake and the university’s board have stood by the decision to fire Waters.
