Court Orders Release Of Ohio Replacement Teachers Name
< < Back to court-orders-release-of-ohio-replacement-teachers-nameThe state Supreme Court has ordered a northeastern Ohio school board to release the names of replacement teachers brought in during a 2013 strike.
The court said in a 5-2 decision that the Strongsville city school board presented little evidence of any threat to the teachers’ privacy or well-being with the strike over.
The ruling Wednesday upheld a lower court ruling that ordered the names released to the president of the Cleveland Teachers Union almost two years ago.
The strike, which ended in April 2013 after eight weeks, was primarily over salary and working conditions in the district of about 6,200 students.
The Supreme Court also ordered teachers’ union president David Quolke be paid $7,972 in attorneys’ fees and costs.
