Ohio’s Wild Turkey Season Opening This Month For Hunters
< < Back to ohios-wild-turkey-season-opening-this-month-for-huntersOhio will open its spring season for hunting wild turkeys this month.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says the spring season opens April 20 while the youth season is set for April 18 and 19.
Hunters harvested 16,000 wild turkeys during the 2014 youth and spring turkey seasons.
The state expects about 70,000 licensed hunters to participate in the season before it ends May 17.
Hunters must make their own game tag to attach to a turkey. Tags must contain the hunter’s name, date, time and county of the kill.
Hunters must report their harvest using the automated game-check system. Game-check transactions are available online and by phone seven days a week.
The spring season bag limit is two bearded turkeys.
