The Ohio Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Ohio) presented the video “Sick, Tired and Behind Bars in Ohio” at the recent NAMI Ohio 2015 Conference, “Dorothea Dix Presents a Matter of Life, Strife or Death.” The video calls attention to the over representation of individuals with serious mental illness in Ohio’s correctional system.
Produced by WOUB Public Media, The Ohio Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is encouraging advocates to view and share the video which calls attention to the over representation of individuals with serious mental illness in Ohio’s correctional system. In a message to stakeholders, NAMI Ohio leadership wrote, “Please help us keep this issue alive by posting this video on your social media accounts and e-mailing it to as many people as you can with a note encouraging them to watch it. It is about the same length as a news story on 60 Minutes and every bit as impactful.”
WOUB’s Evan Shaw worked with NAMI staff to produce and edit this feature video.
