Open House Held for New Athens Maintenance Facility
< < Back to open-house-held-for-new-athens-maintenance-facilityThe Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) celebrated the completion of the new maintenance facility in Athens County by hosting an open house today.
The new building is a remodeled version of the original building, which was built in 1961.
The new facility was an $8.3 million investment.
The facility has many new features including two fully furnished maintenance bays, a storage unit that can hold more than 5,000 tons of salt, more than 20 security cameras, and a truck wash bay.
The facility will allow employees to respond to the roads more efficiently and effectively.
