Attorney General Mike DeWine announced the grants and other initiatives designed to help colleges and universities better respond to sexual assaults today at Columbus State Community College.
“Sexual assault happens far too often in this country,” DeWine said. “We know it happens in Ohio, and we know that it happens on college campuses. Streamlining investigations and prosecutions and improving victim services are crucial to addressing campus sexual assaults.”
The other initiatives include resources for schools to develop agreements with law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim services providers, and campus sexual assault investigation training for law enforcement personnel. Those regional training programs will be offered over the summer at campuses across the state.
