Former Ohio forward Maurice Ndour may not have had his name called during Thursday night’s NBA Draft, but that does not mean his chances of making it to the Association are all but shot.

Chris Manning of Hustle Belt spoke with Ndour’s agent, Eric Fleisher, who indicated that the Senegal native will play on the New York Knicks’ Summer League team. Fleisher explained that Ndour had five other Summer League offers but chose the Knicks because of his comfortability in the triangle offense.

Another reason that Ndour chose the Knicks is that they are comfortable with him spending next season playing overseas while the other teams wanted the former Bobcat to play in the NBA D-League. The Knicks plan to maintain a relationship with the 6-9 forward while he is playing in Europe.

In his two seasons with the Bobcats, Ndour averaged 14.9 points per game and earned All-MAC Second Team honors in 2015. The NBA Las Vegas Summer League will begin on July 10 and continue through July 20.
