Dozens of Break-Ins, Burglaries Reported in Athens in Recent Weeks

In the past seven-plus weeks, officers with the Athens Police Department have responded to more than 50 calls in the city related to possible burglaries or breaking and entering incidents.
In a news release on Friday, Athens Chief of Police Tom Pyle stated that of the 51 calls for service by the department, 37 have resulted in reports of either breaking and entering or burglary involving potential or actual follow-up investigations.
