< < Back to espn-places-ohio-u-among-the-best-campuses-for-recruits-to-visitThe long-celebrated Ohio University campus is in the news again. In ESPN’ s “Top 10: College campuses for recruits to visit, non-hoops version,” Ohio University was No. 4 on the countdown.
The article focuses on basketball programs with visit-worthy campuses, without accounting for on-court results. Ohio was named along with basketball powers like Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Virginia. Pepperdine University in Malibu, California topped the list.
The article highlights Fest season and the Athens Halloween Block Party noting that, “The folks of Athens, Ohio, have this fun thing down.”
On the basketball side of things, the Bobcats received a C+ grade. According to the story’s author, Dana O’Neil, “The Bobcats are a lot like their campus — sort of an under-the-radar gem.”
Ohio coach Saul Phillips may not be able to use the ’14-’15 season as a selling point to recruits, but he does have the campus. Now he has documentation to back it up.
