Week 3 Power Rankings: SEOAL, MSL, SVC

SEOAL

1.) Logan Chieftains 3-0 (0-0) | Last rank: 1 | Next opponent vs. Cambridge

The Chieftain offense is still putting up huge numbers, averaging over 38 points per game, and now their defense is following suit. Logan held a potent Meigs offense to a season low 22 points.

2.) Jackson Ironmen 3-0 (0-0) | Last rank: 2 | Next opponent @ Lake

Jackson took care of business against a winless West Jefferson team on Friday.

3.) Gallia Academy Blue Devils 0-3 (0-0) | Last rank: 3 | Next opponent vs. Marietta

Offensive woes continue to plague Gallia Academy with the Blue Devils failing to score more than 13 in a game after three attempts. Life won’t get any easier with a trio of games against the likes of Marietta, Athens, and Point Pleasant coming up.

4.) Warren Warriors 0-3 (0-0) | Last rank: 4 | Next opponent vs. Parkersburg South

The Warriors have yet to score and are allowing 40.7 points per game.

Mid-State League

1.) Bloom Carroll Bulldogs 2-1 (0-0) | Last rank: 1 | Next opponent vs. Liberty Union

Despite the nine point loss to Licking Valley on Friday, the Bulldogs are still playing effective football to the tune of averaging 32 points per game.

2.) Amanda- Clearcreek Aces 1-2 (0-0) | Last rank: 2 | Next opponent vs. Hamilton Township

Amanda-Clearcreek’s offense took a step back in week three, hanging only 10 points on Jonathan Alder. That comes after the Aces put up 75 points through their first two games.

3.) Fairfield Union Falcons 2-1 (0-0) | Last rank: 3 | Next opponent vs Logan Elm

It’s difficult to grasp Fairfield Union’s potential, given its two wins came against teams with a combined 1-5 record. Those two wins weren’t the most convincing either, beating New Lexington 7-0 in week one and squeaking by a winless Vinton County squad 10-8 last Friday.

Scioto Valley Conference

 1.) Zane Trace Pioneers 3-0 (0-0) | Last rank: 2 | Next Opponent @ Unioto

Zane Trace’s defense has buckled down as of late, allowing only 13 points over its past two games. Meanwhile, its offense has yet to score fewer than 34 points.

2.) Unioto Sherman Tanks 2-1 (0-0) | Last rank: 1 | Next opponent vs. Zane Trace

After beginning the season with two convincing wins, Zane Trace took a step back Friday during its 16-13 loss to Waverly. Zane Trace, Unioto’s next opponent, clobbered Waverly 35-6 in week two.
