Three Arrested After Attempted Marijuana Theft
< < Back toThe Athens County Sheriff’s Office arrested three Athens County citizens after they attempted to steal marijuana allegedly growing at a residence on Monk Road early Tuesday night.
After investigation, Chris Simms, 47, of Nelsonville; Phillip Simms, 49, of Athens; and Cindy Mender, 52, also of Nelsonville, were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, according to a press release by the sheriff’s office.
During the attempted theft of the marijuana, Chris Simms and the caller who reported the crime both fired warning shots at one another.
Whether the three appeared in court yet is unknown.
