COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio national resources and tourism officials are pointing out that the arrival of autumn means there will soon be good sightseeing opportunities as forest leaves start changing colors.

Officials at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources say peak fall colors should arrive in northern Ohio by mid-October, central Ohio’s fall foliage should be its most colorful in the third full week of the month, and southern Ohio peaking in late October.

TourismOhio says the strong red, bright orange and vivid yellow colors make for memorable backdrops for hiking, bike rides and other outdoor activities.
