Miller – Wahama

In the battle of the Falcons, the Wahama White Falcons stole the show from the Miller Falcons in one of the season’s most significant upsets.

Wahama (4-5, 3-5) stormed out to an early lead and weathered the storm, topping Miller (7-2, 4-2) 39-21.

Jared Nutter played a leading role in Wahama’s win, totaling 280 yards and four touchdowns. Nutter also recorded a key interception late in the game to halt Miller’s comeback attempt.

Nutter ran with authority and ran through many missed tackles, but Wahama’s offensive line played its part well. The White Falcons dominated the line of scrimmage, giving Nutter large gaps through which to run.

As for Miller’s star back, an ankle sprain severely limited Kody McKinnis, who was unable to generate much of anything.

Wahama will close its season against Buffalo (WV) while Miller will need a win against South Gallia in order to have a chance at the postseason.

Southern – South Gallia

South Gallia’s Isaiah Geiger followed up is 200-plus yard performance from last week with an even more impressive feat.

Geiger piled on 348 yards on 18 carries to help South Gallia (5-4, 4-3) sprint past Southern (3-6, 2-5) 48-21.

Geiger made quick work, recording touchdowns of 86 and 75 yards to give South Gallia an early 14-0 lead. It was smooth sailing from there for Geiger and South Gallia’s offense, which took complete control.

Its defense kept up as well, swallowing up Southern’s rushing attack.

Southern will conclude its season with a match-up against Eastern while South Gallia will be fighting for a playoff spot when it takes on Miller.
