Trimble Tomcats Dec. 13-20
< < Back to trimble-tomcats-dec-13-20The Trimble Tomcats have displayed the same play of basketball everyone in Glouster have become accustomed to.
Prior to this week, the Tomcats were undefeated with all three games resulting in a double-digit victory. This new week for them contained three new games that they hoped to continue that streak of wins. They kept their undefeated season alive with two wins against Miller at home and Eastern on the road. However, Trimble’s third game scheduled on Saturday was not played but rather postponed. After the two victories this week, Trimble is now at the top of the standings of the TVC Hocking, in 1st place with a perfect 4-0 record within conference play.
Trimble’s first game of the week was at home on Tuesday against a struggling Miller Falcon team. This was not quite like all of the other games the Tomcats have experienced this year, with the margin of victory only being by 6 points. This was a very high scoring game however, with the Tomcats putting up the most points they have in their first four games. Trimble eventually prevailed with the final score 74-68 resulting in a very close win. The Tomcats would follow up this close win at home with a blowout win on the road against the Eastern Eagles. With the 78-42 victory, Trimble broke their previous season high of points that was set three days before. This trend of high scoring games has been on an up-rise as Trimble hasn’t had a game where it scores less than 60 points.
The Tomcats looked to keep this winning streak alive against Millersport on Saturday, but the game was to be postponed to a date that is yet to be determined. Since there would be no game played that night, the next contest for the Tomcats will be a conference home game against a Southern team who is hungry to get its first win of the season and give Trimble its first loss. That game will be played on Tuesday December 22nd.
