Trimble Ranks Ninth in AP Ohio Boys Basketball State Polls
< < Back to trimble-ranks-ninth-in-ap-ohio-boys-basketball-state-pollsThe first AP Ohio Boys Basketball State Polls were released on Tuesday. The polls feature the Trimble Tomcats at ninth for Division IV.
Following a season where the Tomcats finished the regular season with a perfect 22-0 record, Trimble is 9-1 at the time of the poll’s release.
Head coach Howie Caldwell’s squad is returning two key players from a year ago. Justice Jenkins is the standout in the backcourt again while Bryce Guthrie has been the Tomcat’s main man down low.
The high-powered Tomcat offense is averaging just shy of 70 points per contest. Trimble is having just as much success on the other end of the floor as well. The men out in Glouster have given up 60 or more points just three times this season.
According to Tri-Valley Conference, Trimble’s Tuesday game against South Gallia has been postponed, making its next game against the Waterford Wildcats.
Important games remaining on Trimble’s schedule include two matchups with Waterford (8-1, 6-0), and two with South Gallia (9-2, 5-2).
Waterford, brandishing an 8-1 record, made an appearance on the list as well. Waterford appears at No. 12, putting them only eight points away from cracking the list’s top 10.
Columbus Africentric, who came in at third in Division IV in the inaugural poll, spoiled Trimble’s perfect year last season in the Convocation Center.
