Ohio Public Housing Organizations Get $74M for Improvements

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development says it will provide Ohio’s public housing organizations with $74 million for capital improvements.
The funding allocation announced Thursday provides funding for 3,100 organizations across the country, including dozens in Ohio. Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority will receive $19 million, the largest allocation in the state. Cincinnati’s housing authority will receive $9 million, Akron $7 million, Dayton and Columbus $5 million and Toledo $4 million.
According to a HUD statement, housing authorities use the money for repairs and renovations that include roof replacements, energy efficiency upgrades and repairs to plumbing and electrical systems.
