Central Ohio Authorities Meet To Fight Addictions Epidemic

The one-day meeting Wednesday in Columbus brings together law enforcement personnel, substance abuse counselors, health department workers, educators, clergy, lawmakers and others.
Fatal drug overdoses have been the leading cause of accidental death in Ohio since 2007, surpassing car crashes.
Last year 193 people in Franklin County died from drug overdoses. That’s down slightly from the past couple years but still near highest-ever levels.
A record 2,482 people in Ohio died from accidental overdoses in 2014.
