For about a year and half, Athens missed out on Blackoutfest, The Union’s annual celebration of rock ‘n’ roll right on the main drag of town. Although this year’s event is taking place in July, rather than in April as it traditionally did, the three nights of music are back and stronger than ever. Check out these photos of the first night of performances from Nightstalker, Swarming Branch, Sega Genocide, Tweens and White Mystery taken by WOUB’s Joe Votaw.

Blackoutfest is still going strong, and tickets are available here and a complete schedule of performing acts is available here.
