College Gate Returns To OU Campus

Construction fences will come down as a ribbon goes up before College Gate on the campus of Ohio University re-opens to the public this fall.
Officials will hold a formal ribbon cutting and grand re-opening of College Gate on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 9 a.m. as part of Homecoming Week 2016. The ceremony will showcase College Gate throughout the years and feature special remarks from university officials. The Homecoming Parade immediately follows the event, according to the university.
Renovation on College Gate began this past spring. The College Gate project was originally scheduled to begin last summer, however, significant deterioration in the utility tunnel underneath the Gate inhibited the project to move forward until the tunnels were repaired.
