Morgan Looks To Spoil Philo’s Title Hopes
< < Back to morgan-looks-to-spoil-philos-title-hopesIt’s been nine years since the Morgan Raiders have beaten the Philo Electrics. Come Friday, the Raiders have a chance to play spoiler as Philo remains the only unbeaten team in the MVL and needs to win out to win the MVL Title.
Both teams are coming off victories last week. Morgan defeated Crooksville, 20-14, and Philo blanked New Lexington, 33-0.
The Electrics have outscored the Raiders, 315-101 during their current eight-game winning streak.
If Morgan is going to knock off Philo, they need to keep momentum going from last week. The Raider defense had two interceptions and two sacks. They ran the ball 30 times and need to give quarterback Dylan Leopold time in the pocket to spread their offense and find open recievers.
Philo is lead by quarterback Nate Baker. Baker is as a potential Gridiron Glory Player of the Year.
Last week, Baker went 10-of-17 for 143 yards and a touchdown.
The two-headed monster backfield of Dakota Perry and Dylan Tweedy, continue to pound the ball between the tackles and into the end zone.
DB/WR Jacob Mohler and Kolt Moore add to the offensive weapons that have made Philo such a dynamic offensive team.
Philo is averaging 34.6 PPG while Morgan is averaging 23.2 PPG.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in McConnelsville.
