Ohio Soccer’s Beurket Named Player of the Week
< < Back to ohio-soccers-beurket-named-player-of-the-weekOhio’s sophomore goalie Erin Beurket was named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her performances this past week against Ball State and Miami.
Beurket helped the Bobcats to a 2-0 week and had her best performances this season.
Against the MAC leading-Ball State Cardinals on Thursday, Beurket allowed one goal while facing six attempts on goal. She made five saves during the 90-minute competition. With four minutes left of play, Beurket stopped the Cardinal’s Lucy Walton shot to the upper corner, securing Ohio’s 3-1 win.
On Sunday, Beurket did it again, this time ending an eight-year losing streak against the Miami Redhawks. Facing four shots on goal, Beurket made four saves, giving Ohio a shutout win over the Redhawks, 2-0.
Beurket ended the weekend allowing one goal after facing 10 total shots. She registered a .900 save percentage.
The Bobcats return to Chessa to host Kent State on Thursday in their final regular season game of the season.
