Unofficial Election Results from Athens County
< < Back to unofficial-election-results-from-athens-countyThe polls are closed and the unofficial election results are in. Athens County showed up to vote election night with a 63 percent voter participation rate.
Every single issue on the ballot passed with the exception of the income tax increase that would have benefited the Alexander and Warren Local School Districts.
Athens County passed the senior services levy replacement with nearly ten thousand more votes in favor of the bill. The 0.3-mill levy replacement for the health department also passed with a large margin.
The city of Athens will be seeing a municipal 0.2% income tax increase as well as as a 6.73-mill tax levy substitute for Athens City Schools.
Fire departments across the county will also be seeing an increase in funding as will road maintenance departments.
