Athens-based concert production company A-Town Roots is excited to bring Papadosio guitarist/producer/vocalist Anthony Thogmartin back to Jackie O’s, this time under his electronic side project, EarthCry. The concert will take place this coming Saturday, Jan. 28, and will also feature regional acts Vibe & Direct and Mild Movements.

Papadosio formed in Athens in April of 2006 after band members had been playing together at open jams. The future bandmates were regulars had the Tuesday open jam at O’Hooley’s, which then became Jackie O’s. Since then, the band has toured constantly around North America, creating a large and extremely devoted fan base. It’s going to be a phenomenal homecoming for Thogmartin.

Thogmartin’s EarthCry project is his outlet for more of his electronic ideas. His organic approach to music production creates a beautiful sound, featuring genre mashing, developmental frequency, and an odd combination of instruments and sounds. Staying true to his jam band roots, EarthCry’s live performances can include live instruments, looping, cutting, and other various ways to make each performance unique.

Cleveland based Vibe & Direct will give everyone their live band fix for the night. The trio is similar to Papadosio; combining heavy amounts of electronic elements with jam rock. Their upbeat and exciting dance party of a live show has earned them performances at many Midwest music festivals, including The Werk Out, Rootwire, and The Mad Tea Party Jam. Opening act Mild Movements performs with a downtempo, yet psychedelic approach to electronic music.

Doors open at 9 p.m. $10 tickets can be purchased at here.
