CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – Gov. Jim Justice has announced three appointments to openings on the state Board of Education, who will be sworn in at the next meeting in February.

They are Miller Hall, who has been a teacher, dean, principal and administrator in the Raleigh County school system; Barbara Whitecotton, who recently retired after 41 years as a teacher and administrator in Pendleton and Hardy counties; and Chuck Hatfield, a retired teacher, principal and most recently superintendent of Putnam County Schools.

Justice says the state’s politicians and bureaucrats “have failed to listen to our teachers, so I appointed three educators with significant classroom experience.”
