< < Back to bobcats-never-trail-in-series-tiebreaker-against-siennaOhio Baseball (10-7) wrapped up their weekend hosting Siena (4-11) with a 6-4 win on Sunday after their doubleheader on Saturday.
Redshirt junior Michael Klein started on the mound for the Bobcats and allowed six total hits and 2 runs in 5.2 innings. Klein was awarded the win, improving his record to 2-0. He was relieved by Kenny Ogg for one out, followed by Matt Mikolajzcak, Cory Blessing, and Jake Roehn who each pitched an inning.
The Bobcats took the lead in the bottom of the first when Spencer Ibarra led off with an infield single and eventually scored on a base hit by Klein. In the bottom of the third, Ibarra drew a leadoff walk and advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches. Ibarra scored his second run for Ohio on a sacrifice fly by Rudy Rott. In the bottom of the fourth, Ibarra doubled, sending senior baseman Connor Callery home to score the third run for Ohio.
It was not until the top of the fifth that Siena managed to put some runs up on the board, however Ohio was able to respond and add a run in their half of the fifth after Rott led off with an infield single and scored the fourth run on an infield by Ty Black.
A similar occurrence happened in the sixth inning when Siena put up another run but it was not long before another Ohio run was scored. Nick Bredeson had an RBI ground out which sent Devon Garcia home. The sixth and final run was scored after senior shortstop Tyler Finkler nailed a sacrifice fly to right field bringing Ibarra home.
After nailing two homeruns on Saturday to bring his total to four this season, Ibarra went 3-for-3 with an RBI, one walk, and scored three of Ohio’s six runs.
Ohio Baseball will remain at home for their next game as they host Morehead State University on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
