OhioHealth Donates Nelsonville Facility to Integrated Services for Behavioral Health
< < Back toOhioHealth will officially turn over the keys to the former Doctors Hospital of Nelsonville to Integrated Services for Behavioral Health in a ceremony Thursday afternoon.
The former Doctor’s Hospital of Nelsonville, which was a primary and urgent care facility under OhioHealth, will change its name to the Mary Hill Center of Nelsonville when the rights of the building transfer to ISBH.
“We will begin with a two-to-three phase refurbishment of the building that will start as quickly as possible, and we will do a very substantial energy upgrade,” said Kevin Gillespie, executive director of ISBH.
Gillespie said they hope to complete the first phase of the project within a year.
ISBH provides services for the mental and physical well-being of people in southeastern and central Ohio. The organization puts special emphasis on home-based services, integration with primary health care, and collaborating with communities to support health and wellness.
“We are actively negotiating to bring a full-service dental clinic, and, beyond that, we will be preparing the space for other community-minded tenants to occupy the rest of the building,” said Gillespie.
ISBH also looks to serve in areas of education, employment, housing and access to primary care. The organization works with local partners to promote healthy communities.
The ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the site in Nelsonville.
