Tri-Valley and Philo Geared for Key MVL Battle
< < Back to tri-valley-and-philo-geared-for-key-mvl-battleFriday night is going to be a nail-biter at the Jack Anderson Stadium. Why? Because two of the Muskingum Valley League’s currently top ranked teams, Tri-Valley and Philo, will be facing off head-to-head in one of the biggest games of the season.
Both teams are currently undefeated in the conference, and there is no doubt Philo will be looking for some revenge against Tri-Valley. Last year, the Scotties edged out the Electrics for their sixth straight win of the MVL title. However, Philo shared that title with them as well and this game will be a big determining factor in which team will take the title this year.
Tri-Valley Head Coach Justin Buttermore anticipates the game to “come down to a couple big plays.” When it comes to big plays, all eyes will be on Philo’s Isaac Gill. He is a powerhouse on both sides of the ball. Gill had 330 rushing yards, 464 passing yards, and three interceptions against the Muskies just last week, he is a big threat to the Scotties.
The Scotties have 17 returning starters such as Andrew Newsom, Caleb Craig, Chase Dinan, and Jake McLoughlin who have experience playing in big games like this.
They know how to handle the emotional weight and pressure this game holds. Who will come out on top this year? It’s going to be a close call.
