Arrest Made in The Plains Bank Robbery

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — A suspect has been arrested in connection to a bank robbery earlier this month in The Plains.
Shane Harley Caven, 21, was taken into custody Friday in Franklin County, according to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office. He is initially charged with Robbery and being held in the Franklin County Jail.
Authorities responded to a call about an armed robbery at Hocking Valley Bank in The Plains on September 13 after the suspect allegedly fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
The arrest comes after an extensive investigation by the FBI and Detective John Deak with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said Caven had an accomplice whose identity is being withheld as the investigation continues. Charges against this person are pending.
