TACO Tuesday – The Athens Cannabis Ordinance Passes
< < Back toUnofficial voting results are in showing The Athens Cannabis Ordinance (TACO) passed easily in Athens.
TACO will depenalize and reduce fines for misdemeanor marijuana crimes to $0. TACO tallied 2,000 (76.98%) yes votes while only 598 (23.02%) votes against it.
Caleb Brown of Grassroots Ohio is an Athens resident and one of the leaders who worked to get TACO on the ballot.
“I think it’s pretty cool to have had such a high percentage of the citizens basically showing their support for ending cannabis prohibition.” Brown Said.
