Waterford Dominate 3rd Quarter to Blowout Belpre

Winning has been second nature to the Waterford Wildcats. Tonight was business as usual as Waterford (1-0) took down the Belpre Golden Eagles (0-2) 62 to 36.
The leading scorers seemed to be going at each other all night. Brandon Simoniette had 14 points in a losing effort for Belpre while Bryce Hilverding had 24 for Waterford.
There were moments in the game where each exchanged words and seemed destined to exchange more than that, but the moment never happened.
While the game ended as a blowout it seemed close at half as Waterford only lead 21 to 17 at the intermission. Then the second half happened.
Waterford blew the hinges off the door that was the second half. Out scoring 25 to 9 in the third period and putting on cruise control to take an easy win.
Wyatt Lang also had a solid night for Waterford with 11 points and 14 boards.
Waterford next heads to the Big E classic. Playing against elite teams we will see if this Waterford team is for real like last year’s district championship squad.
