Buckeyes Drop 11th Straight Game to Logan
< < Back to buckeyes-drop-11th-straight-game-loganInstead of traveling to Logan High School the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes (5-16) were given the address of Katie Smith Gymnasium which is home to Logan’s Middle School teams but tonight it was home to the varsity Logan Chieftains (18-2) Thursday night.
It was a different court but same constant result for the Chieftains who handed the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes a 73-30 loss.
You can’t teach height and the Chieftains had a lot of it. Senior Caiden Landis is listed at 6-foot-6 and the rest of their starting lineup averaged over six feet.
With over powering height and the ability to shoot beyond the arc it made it tough for the Buckeye to stop Logan from finding the open man to dish out to for a field goal or 3-point shot.
Logan was able to dish out 12 assists. Most of those coming from field goal. The Chieftains shot 72 percent from the field and drilled 10 shots from behind the 3-point line.
The Chieftains offense spread the floor and was able to move the ball and find the open man who was slashing towards the basket. This made for high percentage points in the key.
As for the Nelsonville-York turnovers plagued them as they turned the ball over 11 times and did not lead the game once.
Leading scorer for Nelsonville-York was Jonathan Richards with seven points, followed by Justin Perry who contributed six.
As for Logan, Bo Miles was a perfect 100 percent from field goal range dropping 30 points paired with six rebounds. Caleb Bell put up 15 points and four rebounds.
Nelsonville-York will look to break an 11-game losing streak against the Miller Falcons to finish out their season and hope to gain some momentum going to the post season.
