The Federal Hocking Lancers (0-2) will host the South Gallia Rebels (0-2) on Friday night as the two conference foes both look to earn their first win of the season. The young season has not started off as planned for the Rebels or the Lancers, and Friday will serve as a launching point for the winning team to right their ship.

Federal Hocking has found itself on the wrong end of two blowouts in its first games, as they suffered a 53-8 loss to Alexander before falling 57-6 to Southern in week two. A primary point of concern for Coach Karl Justus’ players has been the war in the trenches. The Lancers have had trouble consistently gaining yardage on the ground, forcing them too often into 3rd-and-long situations. Federal Hocking has also hemorrhaged rushing yards on defense where they’ve allowed teams to punch the ball into the endzone with ease, as they witnessed Alexander run the ball in seven times in week one. A reversal of this trend will be needed for the Lancers to leave Friday victorious.

South Gallia comes into week three fresh off a lopsided game of their own, as their second game ended with a 41-6 loss to Waterford. The final score was not totally unexpected though, as Waterford entered the game the clear favorite and the number one team in Gridiron’s TVC Hocking Standings predictions. The Rebels had come far closer to a victory in week one, where they battled Symmes Valley until the last play but ultimately came up short, 14-12. South Gallia won last year’s meeting between the two teams 42-6 and are surely hoping for some déjà vu on Friday.

Tune into Gridiron Glory on Friday at 11:30 p.m. or Saturday at 11:30 a.m. to see all the highlights from this contest and plenty of others across Southeast Ohio.
