West Virginia Agency Seeks Comment On Historic Preservation

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – The public is being asked for comments on West Virginia’s current historic preservation comprehensive plan and ideas for continued efforts through 2024.
The West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office will conduct at least eight meetings across the state to collect public comment. The agency says information from the meetings and surveys will be used to draft a new comprehensive plan. The plan is expected to be finalized and approved by the National Park Service by July.
The plan is reviewed, revised and updated every five years.
Meetings are scheduled from Oct. 4 through Nov. 19 in Wheeling, Charles Town, Huntington, Buckhannon, Morgantown, Bluefield, Bath and Lewisburg.
