For Waterford, the season has been a good one so far for both teams. As both teams head into a Christmas break, they both hold winning records and remain undefeated in the TVC.

Wildcats

The Waterford Wildcats have had an impressive start to their season. Head coach Tom Simms has helped lead his team with confidence through the Tri-Valley Conference where they are undefeated, 5-0. The Wildcats, however, are 6-1 for the season with their only loss coming from a battle against Alexander that had them fall 58-30.

Their wins on the other hand have all been by 10 or more points the past two weeks, which has truly shown their force in the TVC from the start of this season. On Dec. 14, the Wildcats took on Miller and won with a score of 54-37. In Reedsville, Waterford took on Eastern and came away winning 40-35. The most recent game that took place, on Dec. 21, was against Federal Hocking, which added another win to their impressive record.

The Wildcats will take on 3-3 Caldwell away on Dec. 29 at 7:30.

Lady Wildcats

The Lady Wildcats, who have also gone undefeated in the TVC, have had a slower two weeks than their classmates have had, winning two of the their last three games.

Waterford welcomed South Gallia to their court on Dec. 10 looking to add to their undefeated record. Waterford came away on top in the game with a 34 point win, 54-20.

Still undefeated, the Lady Wildcats took the trip out to Federal Hocking on Dec. 13. Waterford dominated the Lady Lancers throughout the game and came away with a 55-30 win. Their first loss of the season came later against a tough Minford team. The Lady Wildcats struggled during the first quarter, only scoring four points while Minford dropped 17. In the second and third quarters, Waterford bounced back a little bit scoring more than before but still couldn’t seal the deal. They ended up losing this one 54-32.

The Lady Wildcats will welcome the 5-2 Eastern Eagles, who are also undefeated in the TVC, on Jan. 3.
