Darlingside’s last album, Extralife, tackles dystopian themes with the unlikely medium of colorful baroque pop. The band has been hailed by NPR Music for their “exquisitely-arranged, literary-minded” songcraft, which undulates from familiar feeling indie rock to cerebral folk.
WOUB spoke to Don Mitchell (guitar/banjo/vocals,), about the band’s last album, finding hope in 2019, and performing at the 2019 Nelsonville Music Festival, in the interview embedded above.
