Juvenile Arrested After Threat to Adena High School
< < Back to juvenile-arrested-after-threat-to-adena-high-schoolFRANKFORT – The Ross County Sheriff’s Office arrested a juvenile in Roxabel on Monday morning after he allegedly threatened to shoot up Adena High School.
Authorities were notified after a student informed school staff he had seen a video where an expelled student made threats to shoot up the school. Ross County Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Preston tells the Chillicothe Gazette the boy confirmed he had made the video. Capt. Preston said there was no evidence the boy had made any plans to follow through.
The boy was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of inducing panic.
The incident comes just days after the school was placed on lockdown due to a student bringing what the sheriff’s office described as an airsoft/BB style pistol to the school to sell to another student. Three students believed to have handled the gun were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center on inducing panic charges.
The two incidents are not related.
