WOUB Learning Lab Offers Ohio Ready to Learn Workshops

ATHENS, OH – Calling all childcare providers and early childhood educators! The WOUB Public Media Learning Lab is offering professional development workshops to help you get the hands-on training needed to improve the lives of children and families in our region. All workshops are Ohio approved and are offered at no charge. Registration can be completed at https://occrra.org
This year four different workshops are being offered. They will be offered in a series in Athens, Washington, Jefferson, Jackson, Tuscarawas, Muskingum, Coshocton and Guernsey counties. We will explore books, PBS Kids Apps and other learning activities around these topics.
Topics for our Ohio Ready to Learn 2019-20 Series include:
Writing Fun, Right Now for Preschoolers AT#126826
Early childhood professionals who attend this training will be introduced to the different stages of writing development in young children and will have the opportunity to practice a variety of engaging instructional strategies that support preschoolers’ emergent writing skills.
Terrific Transition Tips for Preschoolers AT#127019
For some children, daily routines and transitions can be very challenging. This workshop will explore several strategies for making transition times with young children easier and more successful.
Playing to Learn! AT#127157
Play is critical to the development of young children. Participants who attend this training will be able to describe how children learn through play and will explore a variety of strategies that will support children’s playful learning experiences.
Fostering Friendships AT#127160
Successful friendships in early childhood contribute to a child’s long-term quality of life. Participants who attend this workshop will explore a variety of strategies that will foster critical friendship skills in young children.
