It’s 7 p.m. on a week night, and I’m calling Ohio University alum Tim Donnellan about his podcast, which takes its name from the phrase that opens so many sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking, but always entertaining stories: “This One Time at Ohio University.” Donnellan answers, and he sounds exactly like he did when he called me mid-December to pitch a WOUB story about the steadily growing podcast: friendly, conversational in tone, and, more than anything, game to talk about his alma mater.

Hailing from Springfield, OH, Donnellan graduated from Ohio University in 1991 with a general studies degree. Although that degree has been serving Donnellan well throughout his professional life, it wasn’t until last year that the idea for the (about) twice-monthly podcast was born. The podcast covers a variety of subjects, from stories related to Ohio University’s long-held reputation as an excellent place to “raise Cain” (as Donnellan put it in our interview), to the many beloved places and people so many associate with the “Harvard on the Hocking.”

You can hear my interview with Donnellan embedded above, and you can get in touch with him if you’d like to contribute to the podcast an Ohio University story of your own through the podcast’s Facebook page.
