Athens Farmers Market Open Saturday With Some Coronavirus Restrictions< < Back to
ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — The Athens Farmers Market announced Thursday that they will open Saturday, March 21. But they are urging both vendors and customers to follow certain guidelines to prevent the possibility of coronavirus spread.
According to their Facebook page, the Athens City/County Health Department recommended the market on Satuday be moved outside with an expanded set up.
The Athens Farmers Market asks customers to touch only what they will purchase, not to congregate in groups larger than 10 and keep six feet from other shoppers and vendors.
Vendors are also asked to provide hand sanitizer and washing stations.
The Athens Farmers Market is located at 1000 East State St. in Athens and offers fresh produce, and other natural and organic products from local farmers and vendors.
This Saturday, March 21, it will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Several vendors are now offering deliveries at a lower cost and less minimum quantities required to help the income flowing for their businesses.
