COLUMBUS, Ohio (WOUB) — Ohio’s state auditor has awarded several local entities after reviewing their financial audit reports.

Athens City School District was one of four districts in Ohio to receive the Auditor of State Award with Distinction. On his website, Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber explains this distinction is given to entities who file a “clean” audit report. This includes submitting financial reports by the due date, without extension, and preparing a comprehensive annual financial report.

Seven other organizations in and near the region received the Auditor of State Award. As with the Award with Distinction, this includes a clean audit report and no indications of ethics referrals, findings for recoveries, or issues with public records or public meetings.

Here are some of the entities receiving the Auditor of State Award:

Guernsey Co. – Cambridge City SD

Meigs Co. – Meigs Metro Housing Authority

Morgan Co. – Morgan Local SD

Perry Co. – Crooksville Exempted Village SD

Scioto Co. – Portsmouth City SD and Scioto County Career Technical Center

Tuscarawas Co. – East Central OH Educational Service Center
