ATHENS, OH – A live stream of WOUB TV is now available online for anyone in the region who wants to watch on their computer, phone or tablet. The live stream of WOUB HD 20.1/44.1 launched late last week.
“We know that many people have cut the cord and are going online to stream video content,” said WOUB General Manager Mark Brewer. “We are pleased to now have a live stream of WOUB’s primary channel available for those in our region to access.”
You can find the live stream by visiting woub.org and clicking the “WOUB Now” tab. You can also visit PBS.org and click the LIVE TV option at the top right corner of the site. Depending on the browser, viewers may instead see a menu icon (☰ ). The LIVE TV option will also be listed on the drop-down menu.
You can only watch the live stream from the local PBS station which serves your broadcast area. You will not be able to view the live stream of a PBS station outside of WOUB’s geographic area.
The live stream is available on your computer or on other devices that support the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge. You can also watch the live stream on the PBS Video Channel on Roku devices. The live stream is not available on the PBS Video app on other devices at this time, but work is being done to bring live streaming to other devices in the near future.
“It’s important, especially at this time where many children are using PBS programming to learn at home, that we provide access to WOUB TV in multiple ways,” said Brewer. “We are thrilled to be able to provide another way for our viewers to access educational, quality programming provided by PBS and WOUB.”
