Ohio Baseball: Bobcats Ousted in Doubleheader by Falcons’ Starting Pitching
< < Back to ohio-baseball-bobcats-ousted-in-doubleheader-by-falcons-starting-pitchingATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — Bowling Green’s bullpen was able to have a day off on Sunday, when their starting pitchers were able to go all the way in both matchups on the day. Andrew Abrahamowicz and Rigo Ramos both went seven innings to secure two victories over the Ohio Bobcats.
In game one, the Bowling Green Falcons got out to a quick start by taking a quick and early lead in the first. After that they never looked back and went out on top, 6-2.
Kyle Gurney carried the weight for the Falcons as he was responsible for two homeruns that kept the Bobcats out of reach from any hope of a comeback.
A few rallies for the Bobcats were the reason for the two runs they were able to deliver, but not much offensive energy was a trend for the Bobcats today.
In game two, throughout the first three innings both offensives were held scoreless.
That tie was broken in the fourth inning when the Falcons rallied four across home plate. The Bobcats attempted to bounce back quick in an attempt to comeback, but at the bottom of the fourth Ohio left runners on second and third.
One final push for the Bobcats still left them short as Trevor Lukkes was able to hit a two-run homerun in the bottom of the seventh, but that was too little too late as the Bobcats lose game number two on the day, 5-2.
Ohio has one more game against the Falcons on Monday at 1 p.m. as they hope to win and split the series against Bowling Green.
