Caldwell Head Coach Chance Rucker had high praise for his junior running back.
“We’ve got a very special dude at running back,” Rucker said. “He’s our workhorse, we always rely on him.”
Sayre would find the end zone one more time in the fourth quarter. He finished with 199 yards and three touchdowns.
The Eagles battles back to get it within one score but failed to convert on a crucial 4th down late in the fourth quarter. Caldwell escaped with a win, by a final score of 29-27.
Caldwell heads back home this week to take on Conotton Valley. Eastern will finish up their home stint against Waterford before starting a two game road trip.
