Nelsonville-York prevails in the latest chapter of Athens rivalry

Thanks to an outstanding performance from Drew Carter, the Buckeyes pounded the Bulldogs 41-6.
Carter tallied four total touchdowns including a pick-six in the team’s victory. All four of Carter’s touchdowns came in the first half as Nelsonville York went into the locker room up 27-0.
Athens finally got on the scoreboard in the third quarter thanks to a five-yard touchdown pass from Braeden Young to Alex Pero. However the comeback attempts were quickly shutdown.
Carter ended the game with zero passing yards but totaled 129 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns on 11 carries.
With this win, Nelsonville-York (7-3) wins the TVC-Ohio title and secures the 8-seed in Division VI Region 23. They will take on the Centerburg Trojans (6-3) in Week 11.
